Palesa Shené Chele
My professional experience spans a variety of settings, including tertiary psychiatric hospitals, district hospitals, and community-based organisations. These experiences have provided me with a broad understanding of mental health across diverse populations and levels of care.
I have received training in neuropsychological and forensic assessments, enabling me to incorporate these skills into my therapeutic work. In addition, I have experience working within substance use rehabilitation settings, supporting adults on their journeys toward recovery and sustained sobriety.
My therapeutic approach is collaborative, reflective, and person-centred. I believe that every individual brings unique strengths, experiences, and perspectives into the therapeutic space. As such, I work alongside clients to foster insight, resilience, and meaningful change while creating a safe and supportive environment for growth.

What guides this work
The whole person — not just the problem
Psychological distress does not exist in isolation. Each person's experiences are shaped by the interplay of their relationships, lived experiences, personality, biological makeup, and environmental factors.
My approach to therapy considers and contextualises the whole person rather than focusing solely on symptoms. Together, we explore the underlying patterns, experiences, and emotional processes that contribute to current difficulties, while recognising the strengths and resources that support healing.
Collaborative, not prescriptive
Therapy is something we do together—not something that is done to you. As your psychologist, I bring clinical knowledge, therapeutic expertise, and evidence-based approaches. You bring your lived experiences, strengths, and goals.
Together, we develop a shared understanding and identify approaches that support meaningful and lasting change.
Evidence that fits the human
Established therapeutic frameworks matter, but they're starting points, not scripts. The approach adapts to who you are. What works for one person may not work for another, and that's okay.
